  • Prezi on BBFC
  • Production, Distribution and Exhibition
  • Production, Distribution and Exhibition - Face/Off
  • How Editing Is Used - Face/Off
  • Vertical Limit Script
  • Independent Cinema
  • Genre Presentation
  • Thriller Research
  • Codes and Conventions
  • Timelines - Face/Off, Kill Bill, Casino Royale
  • Essays - Bourne Identity, Kill Bill, Se7en, Sin City, Face/Off
We done all these for our research at AS Level because they make us understand all the knowledge about filming and editing, it also helps us understand what are usually seen in an thriller film. By learning the code and conventions this has helped us understand what should be in thrillers and what the audience like to see in the audience. By doing research on Thrillers has also helped understand everything that is seen in films, and by doing research on different thriller films we can identify what is similar in each film.
We done research on Production, Distribution and Exhibition because this shows us all the ways a film is produced/made, it also gives us an inside knowledge on how to get a film produced. Doing research on the independent cinema has helped us understand how independent films get themselves out there, and if we decided to do an independent films what we can do to make an independent film.
Analysing the vertical limit script has helped us read scripts for thrillers, and how in writing and action we can see how to make it exciting.

Planning Activity Done At AS And Purposes:

  • Team Meeting - Idea's
  • Questionnaire
  • Results, Graphs and Conclusion from Questionnaire
  • Location Survey
  • Pitch
  • Second Team Meeting
  • Timeline
  • Story Board
  • Shot List
  • Script
  • Equipment
  • Prop List
  • Film Outline
  • Character Development
  • Problems You May Encounter
  • Codes and Conventions
  • Independent Production Company Planning Sheet
We done the team meetings so everyone in the group can have an idea and a say on which we should do for our final product, we thought of lots of ideas and then as a group agreed on the idea. This is good because everyone in the group gets a say and everyone in the group is happy with the idea, this will help us work better because everyone is happy.
The questionnaire and location survey are good because we get to see what the audience's favourite idea's are about our film, so we can make it the best and attract the audience the best.
The Pitch is very good because this is a meeting with the target audience, so this helps then have a better insight to everything they're going to see in our film, this also helps us get feedback so we can make our film even better.
Second Team meeting was good because this is where we gave each other roles to do through the making process.
The timeline, story board and script are all useful because we know everything that's happening in our opening sequence.
We made an equipment and a prop list so we knew everything we needed through the process of making the film.

  • Used footage from something else and cut it in - (lions gate) - made it more professional
  • Designed a logo - made it creative and crackle
  • Cut music and started it in parts we wanted it too

How much of your text was created only in post - production?
